SANITARY FACILITIES IN SWIMMING POOLS REFERRED TO IN ARTICLE D. 1332-7

A. - Sanitary facilities reserved for bathers and the like

1. Showers

In indoor swimming pools, the number of showers is at least :

One shower for every 20 bathers for a maximum instantaneous attendance of 200 people or less ;

6 + F/50 above;

- F being the maximum instantaneous attendance.

In open-air swimming pools, the number of showers is at least :

One shower for every 50 bathers for a maximum instantaneous attendance of less than or equal to 1,500 people;

15 + F/100 above that;

F being the maximum instantaneous attendance.

Showers in foot baths and showers for the disabled, where a special circuit is provided, are additional.

2. Toilet cubicles

The number of toilet cubicles must be at least equal to F/80 in indoor pools and F/100 in outdoor pools for a maximum instantaneous attendance of less than or equal to 1,500 people, with a minimum of two on the men's side and two on the women's side.

For maximum instantaneous attendance in excess of 1,500 people, the supplement to the number defined in the previous paragraph is calculated on the basis of one cubicle for every 200 bathers.

When the number of toilets reserved for men is greater than two, half of the toilets may be replaced by urinals, the number of which must be at least equal to twice the number of toilets removed.

The floor of toilets and areas where urinals are installed must be equipped with drainage systems for washing water and other liquids, so that there is no possibility of contamination of circulation areas and beaches. There must be no direct communication between toilets and beaches.

3. Washbasins

At least one washbasin must be installed for each group of toilets.

4. Washbasins

At least one foot-washer must be provided for each group of changing rooms.

5. Swimming pools in tourist accommodation

For swimming pools in tourist accommodation such as hotels, campsites, holiday camps, holiday homes and those in housing estates, the sanitary facilities of the establishment accessible to all pool users may be taken into account when calculating the standards defined above. In any case, at least two toilets, a washbasin and two showers must be installed near the pool or pools.

B. - Toilet facilities reserved for the public

At least one washbasin, one lavatory and one urinal must be installed for every 100 people.

Common Questions

Working with a corporate lawyer in France — Q&A

Any time a strategic decision changes how the company is owned, governed or contractually bound — incorporation, fundraising, M&A, restructuring, shareholder agreements, or major commercial contracts. Earlier engagement always costs less than later remediation.

A notary (notaire) is a public officer who authenticates specific deeds (mainly real-estate transfers and certain family-law acts). A corporate lawyer (avocat) advises on strategy, negotiates and drafts company documents, and represents you in disputes. The two roles complement rather than overlap.

Yes — most of our clients are foreign suppliers, investors or holding entities. We bridge the gap between French law and your home jurisdiction's expectations and deliver everything bilingually.

The SAS (Société par Actions Simplifiée) is the default choice for most international structures: flexible governance, single shareholder allowed, no minimum capital, and works cleanly with foreign holding entities. We assess SARL, SA, SCI on the merits when the situation calls for it.

Yes — communications with a French avocat are protected by the secret professionnel (Article 66-5 of the Law of 31 December 1971). This protection is broader than the common-law attorney-client privilege and applies to written and oral exchanges.

We work on fixed fees for clearly scoped engagements (incorporation, contract drafting, audits) and on monthly retainers for ongoing advisory. Hourly billing is the exception, not the default. You always know the cost before work starts.

Typical timeline is 2–3 weeks from KYC kick-off to RCS registration, assuming standard documentation. Holding-company structures, foreign-shareholder identification or in-kind contributions can extend this — we flag the gating items at the first meeting.

Absolutely. We routinely coordinate with your in-house counsel, expert-comptable or notaire — pragmatic collaboration is the norm, not the exception. We send them everything they need to do their part without duplicating work.
