When they are initially registered on the list or re-registered after being struck off, interpreter-translators registered pursuant to articles R. 141-3 and R. 141-4 take an oath before the judicial court of the place of registration, using the following formula: "I swear to carry out my assignment to the best of my honour and conscience and not to reveal or use anything that comes to my knowledge on this occasion".
