An insured who wishes to obtain from the insurer that the cancellation of the insurance contract, as provided for in article L. 160-6, be replaced by the simple suspension of the contract, must submit a request to the insurer, by registered letter or by electronic registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, within one month of the day on which he became aware of the dispossession.
